This clearly shows that Lockheed designers of P2Vs paid great attention for a perfect visibility to benefit of the fore crew, the target to attack or to rescue often being almost a "nothing " at sea, mainly with bad weather...Note the welded structure in the low part of the glazed nose to receive feet feet of the fore observer and give him a viewbelow; probably the most fascinating position in the aircraft where you wish your aircraft has an infinite autonomy to spend your life at a few meters from water and its boats and other islands and coasts or from ground with the unexhaustable activities to be watched and spotted or during close formation flight with other Neptunes... Path of main shock-absorbers from rest is quite reduced and see how Lockheed opted for pure simplicity with the half fork design of the fore undercarriage leg!!!
