Noratlas N° 86 OX
belonged in 1972 to the Villacoublay based GAEL, a french
transport unit specialised in the dual role of instruction and
transportation and liaison for personals from units and staff of
AdlA having to go or come back from bases.
N° 86 knew eight different codes between various squadrons of 61st,
62nd, 63rd Transport Squadrons, GAEL and ETOM 88 ( Overseas
Transport Squadron ) a special quadron supporting the Djibouti
based French F-100s and later Mirages.
