*31*

The opposite side of the stork on Mirage F1 O2. The tradition insigna may be applied either in relation with Jean Coureau, the then Dassault Test Pilot Chief, or with General Jean Maurin who, as predecessor of Ceneral Gauthier as AdlA Chief of Staff, also flew the type on December 3, 1969. Unit's tradition insigna is the famous fighting cock of the WWII fourth flight of Fighter Group GC II/1 which has " unguibus et rostro " motto written in two parts in italic letters: "unguibus" above head, "et rostro" between feet of the cock.
