Wassmer CE-43 Guépard 01, F-WSNJ.
*13*

Other picture of CE-43 clearly revealing its excellent visibility from cockpit for pilot and passengers. It derived from the wooden Wassmer Super IV Balladou, an elegant tourer which gave opportunities of aerodynamical refinments to give this impressive all-metal machine. Pilot is here my friend Gombert who first flew this prototype. Later in the seventies, and due to bad weather, he lost life at Anvers (Belgium) with an Europa or Pacific, during a flight with a potential customer...He was a great glider pilot with a title of France's Champion and for his many talents was recruited by Wassmer company which was in the second part of the sixties the French major if not the sole glider manufacurer with its parent SIREN society, besides its all-plastic and wooden aircraft activities.
